Heavy Weather

Heavy the oar to him who’s tired,

lightened by the sunset over the harbor.

Heavy is the saltwatered, rain-watered oilcloth coat,

drying beside the sleeping sailor and fireplace.

Morning’s red sky and heavy the sea.
