Poetic Obeisance

This poem is titled “Poetic Obeisance.”
Obeisance is defined as “a gesture expressing deferential respect, such as a bow or curtsy.”

bookshelf

I bow to this shelf of poetry books.
These have stood the test of time.

Though the poets never knew that.

I will never know that either, but

I will leave myself some shelf space.
